Meet Our Faculty
School Principal Barbara Genera

I started my teaching career in 1968 after receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree through CA State University at Chico and my California teaching credential.  I taught in the Public School system in Williams for a total of six years.  I began teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes School when it reopened in 1978.  I have taught almost all grade levels including preschool and prekindergarten during my teaching career.  In 1987 I accepted the position as principal of Our Lady of Lourdes School.  In the same year I enrolled in the Educational Administrator’s program at St. Mary’s College in Moraga and received by Masters Degree from St. Mary’s in 1990.  I finished the final phase of the California Administrative Credential in May of 1993.
Our Lady of Lourdes School has been a part of my life for thirty years.  I have dedicated myself to the school’s success both spiritually and academically.  I enjoy each day interacting with the students.  The student’s compassion and love for one another and for the staff have continued to inspire me each year.  Our school continues to thrive because of parent participation.  It is a joy each day to come to work and interact with the students, staff, and parents.

Mrs. Croghan - 1st & 2nd Grade
I started at Our Lady of Lourdes School as a volunteer when my son Michael was a student here. During that time I was going to California State University Chico to become a teacher. I started teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes in 1995.
Mrs. Walsh - 3rd  Grade
I first started at Our Lady of Lourdes School as a parent staying home with my three children.  I had previously been a teacher in the Vallejo public school system where I taught 1st and 2nd grade as well as kindergarten.  I returned to the classroom in 2007 as the release time teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School.  During this time I provided support for grades 1st through 8th.  For the 2008-2009 school year I was our 7th/8th grade teacher.  This new school year I will be our second grade teacher.  I enjoy learning about other cultures and earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from  California State University Sacramento.  When I realized I wanted to teach, I went to Saint Mary's College in Moraga, where I received my California mutiple subject teaching credential with a CLAD emphasis.  Children are such a blessing! I am delighted to be teaching 2nd grade again and look foward to working with your child.
Ms. Arias - 4th Grade
I am very happy to say that this is my 5th year at OLL. I completed my Bachelors Degree through Notre Dame de Namur University (formerly known as College of Notre Dame when I attended). My Credential and Masters course work was completed through National University. I am pleased to say that my family and I were drawn to OLL because of its strong spiritual and academic focus in education. As a parent, I have been very happy with my daughter's educational
goals and proud of her achievements. As part of the OLL staff, I am aware of how fortunate we are to have such wonderful supportive parents. Thank You.
Mrs. Vann - Teacher 5th /6th Grades
I am returning from maternity leave in spring of 2009, for my fifth year teaching at OLL.  I attended the University of California Davis, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.  My teaching credential course work was completed at Chapman University.  What I appreciate most about OLL is our privilege to educate the whole child without separating academics and spirituality, to help develop students with strong skills, morals, and ethics.  I find that students in the fifth and sixth grades are beginning to form their own thoughts and opinions and I enjoy being there with them as they develop into young, thinking, questioning individuals.  Their new insights are often refreshing!
Mrs. McCullough - 7th /8th Grades

"Intelligence plus character—that is the goal
                               of true education."
                                     -MLK, Jr.
It is this course of thought that has led to me to Our Lady of Lourdes School. I started in education as a Substitute Teacher in Colusa County in 2006, a year after completing by Bachalor of Science degree in 2004 from California State Univeristy, Sacramento. I have been in each school district in the county and have served as a substitute teacher in every grade k-12. When it came time to seek a school to enroll my children, I was called to the outstanding academics, safe, secure environment, and the character formation Our Lady of Lourdes has to offer. These strengths are also what makes teaching at this school so rewarding. In 2009 I began teaching at Our Lady of Lourdes for the 7th and 8th grade. After a year of maternity leave, I am extremely happy to be back full-time. At a time when children are exploring their  independence, I find my true calling. I hope to show our youth how to take initiative, be personallyresponsible for their choices, and prepare for the responsibilities they are yearning to obtain.
Mrs. Ramirez - Teachers Aid / Subsitute Teacher

I also have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education which I received through Yuba College.  In 2008 I started working at Our Lady of Lourdes School as a Teacher’s Aid. Previously, I had worked as a Preschool Teacher for Head Start for eight years.  I enjoy working at OLL because of its loving and caring environment.
